PARC DES FAMILLES TO OPEN ALL FEATURES ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2021

Effective Tuesday, November 2, 2021, all features of Parc Des Familles will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to dusk and closed Saturdays and Sundays.

AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOES

Aerial spraying in response to mosquito activity is scheduled to take place on the East and West Banks of Jefferson Parish on the evening of October 30, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. over portions of Metairie, Kenner, Old Jefferson, River Ridge, Harahan, Westwego and Lafitte/Barataria, weather conditions permitting.

OCHSNER BLOOD BANK HOSTS BLOOD DRIVES AT JEFFERSON PARISH GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS

Ochsner Blood Bank will be hosting blood drives from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Joseph S. Yenni Building and Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the General Government Building.

FEMA EXTENDS DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR HURRICANE IDA ASSISTANCE TO NOVEMBER 29

At the request of Governor John Bel Edwards, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has extended the deadline to apply for Hurricane Ida assistance to Monday, November 29, 2021.

JEFFERSON PARISH ANNOUNCES U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN (HUD), CDBG, HOME AND HESG FUNDING FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPERS

The Jefferson Parish Department of Community Development is pleased to announce the opening of the FY2022 Action Plan application period for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (HESG) programs to fund non-profit organizations and affordable housing developers in the estimated amount of $5,000,000.

MASK MANDATE LIFTED IN JEFFERSON PARISH

Consistent with Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards’ new order, the mask mandate in Jefferson Parish is lifted; however masks will still be mandated by federal regulation on mass transit, in health care facilities and in K-12 school districts that decide to opt out.

LANE CLOSURES: TERRY PARKWAY AT HECTOR AVENUE AND WHITNEY AVENUE AT HECTOR AVENUE

Starting today through Friday, October 29, 2021, the southbound lane of Terry Parkway at Hector Ave. will be closed to allow the installation of sidewalks and ADA ramps.
