MASK MANDATE LIFTED IN JEFFERSON PARISH

JEFFERSON, LA – Consistent with Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards’ new order, the mask mandate in Jefferson Parish is lifted; however masks will still be mandated by federal regulation on mass transit, in health care facilities and in K-12 school districts that decide to opt out. While the mask mandate in Jefferson Parish is being lifted for most settings, including government buildings, the CDC still recommends that all people 2 years of age or older who are not fully vaccinated continue to wear masks in indoor settings. In general, masks are not required for outdoor settings. Individual businesses have the right to require masks. Individuals who are not yet vaccinated should continue to social distance and wear masks. The COVID-19 vaccine is the best form of protection and it is recommended that all residents 12 and over get vaccinated.
