JEFFERSON PARISH LIFTS BOIL WATER ADVISORY FOR JEAN LAFITTE BLVD. SOUTH OF TREASURE ST.

In conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health, the Jefferson Parish Water Department is lifting the Boil Water Advisory, today, October, 24, 2021, for Jean Lafitte Blvd. South of Treasure St. based on the analysis of the bacteriological samples collected within the distribution system on October 23, 2021.

In conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health, the Jefferson Parish Water Department is issuing a Boil Water Advisory for a portion of Lafitte comprised of Jean Lafitte Boulevard South of Treasure Street on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish due to multiple breaks in the distribution system caused by Hurricane Ida recovery efforts.

Jefferson Parish received approval from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the removal of debris generated from Hurricane Ida for limited “small business commercial properties.”

AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOES

Aerial spraying in response to mosquito activity is scheduled to take place on the East and West Banks of Jefferson Parish on the evening of Thursday, October 7, 2021 over all incorporated and unincorporated areas, excluding Grand Isle, weather permitting.

LAFITTE, GRAND ISLE RESIDENTS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR STATE SHELTERING PROGRAM

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced that the state of Louisiana, through the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), has launched the Hurricane Ida Sheltering Program, which will provide temporary housing to certain residents in heavily impacted areas where other sheltering options are currently unavailable, including parts of lower Jefferson Parish.
