LANE CLOSURES: WESTBOUND WEST NAPOLEON AVENUE & SOUTHBOUND CLEARY AVENUE TURN LANE

The left lane of westbound West Napoleon Avenue between Cleary Avenue and Richland Avenue and the right turn lane of southbound Cleary to West Napoleon will be closed continuously starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024.

LANE CLOSURES: CLEARVIEW PARKWAY AT GLENDALE STREET

Starting Monday, April 15, 2024, there will be daily rotating lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the intersection of Clearview Parkway and Glendale Street.

RESIDENTIAL FAÇADE IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM AIMS TO ENHANCE HOUSING STOCK IN TERRYTOWN

Today, the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO), in partnership with Jefferson Parish, Jefferson Parish Finance Authority (JPFA), and the New Orleans Education League of the Construction Industry (NOEL), launched a new grant program designed to spruce up the exterior appearance of area homes to make the community more attractive to incoming homebuyers and more economically competitive.

The Jefferson Parish Personnel Department, in conjunction with Jefferson Parish’s Head Start Program, will be hosting an informational job fair for all people interested in learning about job opportunities with Head Start.

TERRYTOWN PLAYGROUND OPENS AT 8AM AS STURDY SHELTER FOR THOSE IN MOBILE HOMES TO RIDE OUT STORM

The National Weather Service advises that it is not safe to be in a mobile home during severe weather and all Jefferson Parish residents in trailers should seek an alternative shelter today in a sturdy building with family or friends if possible.

ROAD CLOSURE: CANAL STREET

Northbound Canal Street between Andrews Street and the I-10 Service Road will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, April 3, 2024) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

JEFFERSON PARISH TO HOST PUBLIC HEARINGS ON PROPOSED INDUSTRIAL ZONING REGULATIONS AND PROPOSED ZONING MAP

The Jefferson Parish Planning Department and consulting firm Camiros will present formal recommendations for the Industrial Zoning Districts Study, including proposed industrial zoning regulations (TXT-3-23, TXT-4-23) and the proposed zoning map (Z-17-23) to the Planning Advisory Board (PAB) at two public hearings this month.

JEFFERSON PARISH TO PROVIDE RESIDENTS WITH FREE WEEKLY RECYCLING AT EAST BANK AND WEST BANK DROP-OFF SITES

Jefferson Parish has contracted with two local companies to provide free weekly recycling to residents every Saturday starting April 13, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the David Drive (400 David Drive, Metairie, LA 70003) and Lapalco (6440 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA 70072) drop-off sites.
