REJOICE, INC. 8TH ANNUAL JUNETEENTH EVENT TO TAKE PLACE
IN JEFFERSON PARISH ON SUNDAY, JUNE 23, 2024 AT 3PM

JEFFERSON, LA – The Rejoice, Inc. 8th Annual Juneteenth event will take place at the Alario Center, located at 2000 Segnette Blvd. in Westwego, LA, on Sunday, June 23, 2023 at 3 p.m. (doors open at 2:30 p.m.). The sponsor for this year’s event is Jefferson Parish Councilman Byron Lee, District 3.

“We invite all residents of Jefferson Parish to join us to honor our history and embrace our community spirit for this very special Juneteenth event,” said Councilman Lee. “We are bridging both the east and west banks for commUnity with a call to action for Justice, Advocacy and Knowledge and look forward to gathering with family and friends for an afternoon of joy, reflection and unity.”

This free event will include music by St. Joseph Missionary BC and DJ Polo; as well as many special guests to talk about what is impacting our community. Attendees will include State Representative Delisha Boyd, District 102; State Representative Rodney Lyons, District 87; Margie Loud Zeno with Friends of Dandridge; Lexus Jordan, MA, a youth and community advocate; Deandra Edwards with Bunche Village Civic Association; Pastor Kaseem Short with Thomas United Methodist Church; and Pastor Damian J. Brown with Little Zion Missionary BC in Avondale.
