ROAD CLOSURES: VETERANS BOULEVARD
Starting today (Monday, July 24, 2023) the following construction projects will begin on Veterans Boulevard.
JEFFERSON PARISH LIBRARY'S AUGUST WRITERS' CLINIC TO FEATURE GARY ARNOLD, ALEXANDREA WEIS
Local authors and educators Gary Arnold and Alexandrea Weis will be featured in the August Saturday Writers’ Clinic beginning at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave., in Metairie.
JEFFERSON PARISH TO HOST COMMUNITY RESOURCES JAMBOREE
In partnership with the United Cajun Navy and ICNA Relief, the Jefferson Engagement and Community Programs cluster, which includes the following departments: Citizens’ Affairs, Community Development, JeffCAP, Senior Services, Cross Cultural, American Job Center and Workforce Development, will be hosting a Community Resources Jamboree on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the John A. Alario Center (2000 Segnette Blvd., Westwego, LA 70094).
ROAD CLOSURE: HOMESTEAD AVENUE AT WEST ESPLANADE AVENUE
Starting at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, the vehicle bridge at Homestead Avenue and West Esplanade Avenue will be closed.
LANE CLOSURE: LAPALCO BOULEVARD
Starting at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, two westbound lanes of Lapalco Boulevard, between Westwood Dr. and Betty St., will be closed.
ROAD CLOSURE: VETERANS BOULEVARD AT MISSISSIPPI AVENUE
Starting Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 9 a.m., the median opening at the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Mississippi Avenue will be closed.
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT CLIMATE COMMUNITY RESILIENCE ROUNDTABLE TO TAKE PLACE IN JEFFERSON PARISH ON FRIDAY, JULY 21, 2023
Jefferson Parish, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Louisiana Governor's Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), will host the HUD Louisiana Climate Community Resilience Roundtable on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the East Bank Regional Library (4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie, LA 70001) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
JEFFERSON PARISH TO HOST FREE TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR ELEVATION CERTIFICATES DUE TO REVISED REQUIREMENTS BY FEMA
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has issued revised requirements for Elevation Certificate forms and Dry Floodproofing Certificate forms, and in accordance with FEMA policy, the new forms are required to be used moving forward.
EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE: LAPALCO BOULEVARD AT FAIRFIELD AVENUE
Starting tomorrow (Wednesday, July 12, 2023) at 7 a.m., one eastbound lane of Lapalco Boulevard at Fairfield Avenue will be closed continuously.
ROAD CLOSURE: MARTIN BEHRMAN AVENUE AT VETERANS BOULEVARD
Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, the north and southbound lanes of Martin Behrman Ave. at Veterans Blvd., as well as the westbound to northbound turn lane from Veterans Blvd. to Martin Behrman Ave. will be closed.
