Jefferson Parish Non-Emergent Permit
The sub-department of E.M.S. is responsible for the proper licensing of all the factors that comprise an emergency medical services system including ambulance companies and their vehicles. This office is also responsible for regulatory authority of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (licenses, vehicles and personnel).
The E.M.S. Program Compliance Specialist oversees compliance with federal, state, and local laws pertaining to E.M.S and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation.
Jefferson Parish Ordinance requires all Non-Emergent personnel operating in Jefferson Parish to have a Jefferson Parish Non-Emergent Permit. The permit is to be kept on the Non-Emergent person at all times while performing duties. Occasional compliance checks are done.

- Current Louisiana Driver's License - Class D
- Defensive Driving Certification
- CPR Certification/First Aid Certification
- New Permit $40.00 Annual Renewal $40.00

A late fee of $100.00 will be assessed if the application is not submitted prior to the expiration date. A fee of $140.00 will be assessed upon recertification for the Non-Emergent Application for recertification of the Jefferson Parish License.
