JEFFERSON PARISH TO CONDUCT AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOES ON EVENING OF SUNDAY, OCT. 8, 2023
Aerial spraying, in response to mosquito activity, is scheduled to take place on the East and West Banks of Jefferson Parish on the evening of Sunday, October 8, 2023, over portions of Kenner, Avondale, Waggaman and Lafitte/Barataria, weather conditions permitting.
ROAD CLOSURE: NORTH LABARRE ROAD
Both lanes of North Lararre Road, between the railroad tracks and Airline Drive will be closed on the following dates:
LANE CLOSURE: WEST METAIRIE AVENUE
Starting at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023, the westbound lane closest to the canal of West Metairie Ave., between Zinnia Ave. and Transcontinental Dr., will be closed.
LANE CLOSURE: METAIRIE HAMMOND HIGHWAY
On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, between the hours of 4:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., the westbound lane of Metairie Hammond Highway, between Carrolton Ave. and Seminole Ave., will be closed.
JEFFERSON PARISH TO HOLD SALTWATER INTRUSION PRESS CONFERENCE ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2023 AT 4PM AT THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER
Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng will join other parish officials and partners for a press conference on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 4 p.m. to provide an update on mitigation measures in place ahead of the saltwater intrusion.
