U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT CLIMATE COMMUNITY RESILIENCE ROUNDTABLE TO TAKE PLACE IN JEFFERSON PARISH ON FRIDAY, JULY 21, 2023

JEFFERSON, LAJefferson Parish, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Louisiana Governor's Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP)will host the HUD Louisiana Climate Community Resilience Roundtable on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the East Bank Regional Library (4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie, LA 70001) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  

According to HUD, the purpose of this roundtable is to provide a platform for internal and external stakeholders to collaborate and share resources to better equip communities to respond to, withstand and recover from adverse situations. The roundtable will provide an opportunity to highlight best practices and strategies that enhance climate resilience, social economic development and environmental justice. Participants will discuss workforce development opportunities that promote employment in adversely impacted communities and leveraging public-private resources and direct support to partners in receipt of HUD's Community Development Block Grant and other funding allocations under blue and gray skies.  

This event is free and open to the public. Government agencies, housing providers, philanthropic/social financial structures, nonprofit organizations, businesses, community organizations or residents interested in leveraging federal, state, local public and private resources for climate resilience are encouraged to attend. Registration is required for in-person participation. Space is limited to 100 attendees on a first-come basis.
