JEFFERSON, LA - Effective Saturday, February 12, 2022, Parc Des Familles will be open Sunday – Saturday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This park has been closed on the weekends since September due to damage sustained by Hurricane Ida.

“We are thrilled to reopen Parc Des Familles on the weekends,” said Jefferson Parish Parks & Recreation Department (JPRD) Director Mario Bazile. “Thanks to all our JPRD staff who worked hard to clear debris and make sure the park was safe and ready post-Ida for the public to enjoy.”

All amenities will now be open to the public daily, which includes the boardwalk, 18-hole Disc Golf Course, nature trails, pavilions, picnic area with barbecue pits, restrooms, with the exception of the two Dog Parks, which will remain closed until further notice due to burr removal. Parc des Familles sits on 610 acres of land that has been developed into a multifaceted complex. The park also includes Estelle Playground which has a sport quadplex comprised of four baseball fields with one field converting into a soccer/football field along with batting cages, concessions and a press box.
