All 4 Trash Drop-Off Sites and the Landfill will be closed on Sunday, July 7th as Cristobal Approaches
JEFFERSON, LA – Curbside garbage and recycling collection service will occur as scheduled on Saturday, June 6, 2020. The Jefferson Parish Landfill and all four Trash Drop Off Sites will be closed to the public on Sunday, June 7, 2020 as Tropical Storm Cristobal approaches. Residents are advised of the following:
- If garbage or recycling collection is suspended or postponed on Monday, June 8, 2020, due to inclement weather, a reasonable effort will be made to pick up on the customer’s next scheduled collection day (Thursday, June 11, 2020).
- Waste Connections will make every effort to remedy all weather-related missed pick-ups in a timely manner. Please be aware that while your streets may be clear, access to your neighborhood may not. After a severe weather event, drivers may need to deviate from their regular scheduled routes in order to make up for what was missed as a result of inclement weather. This may impact your collection.
- During approaching tropical storms, residents should not place bulky material at the curb for collection, as this poses a safety hazard and can contribute to street flooding.
- In areas that are experiencing street flooding, residents are also advised to bring their cans in from the curb, and store them in a safe location.
