HURRICANE ZETA STORM DEBRIS REMOVAL MAP IS NOW ONLINE

JEFFERSON, LA – Residents in unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte can now view an online map to see the progress of storm debris removal in their area. DRC Emergency Services started removing storm related debris in 22 identified zones in unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020; it will take approximately two weeks to complete. A second and final sweep of each street will be made after that time to collect any remaining debris at the curb.

CLICK HERE to view the online map (it is also linked to the bottom of the www.jeffparish.net homepage). Red areas of the map indicate that debris removal is in progress or planned for tomorrow; yellow indicates that it is the final sweep before completion and green indicates that debris removal is complete. Residents can search by their address or view the entire area by zone.

A “Hurricane Zeta Storm Debris Hotline” is also available to residents to obtain information about debris removal. The following toll-free number is in operation from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., seven days per week, until further notice.: 1-888-721-4372.

Residents are reminded that regular household garbage collection is being handled by the parish’s regular waste hauler and should be placed in the parish issued tipper cart for collection. Bagged waste must not be placed with storm debris as it will be collected separately. Parish storm debris contractors cannot pick up storm related debris from businesses or institutions as these entities are considered commercial establishments and not eligible for debris pick-up support under the current regulatory guidelines.
