JEFFERSON PARISH, LOUISIANA

August 24, 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NOTICE TO ALL RESIDENTS OF UNINCORPORATED
JEFFERSON PARISH AND THE TOWN OF JEAN LAFITTE:

GARBAGE, RECYCLING AND BULK WASTE COLLECTION WILL RESUME SERVICE ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2020

JEFFERSON, LA – Curbside garbage, recycling and bulk waste collections were cancelled on Monday, August 24, 2020 due to the approach of Tropical Storm Marco. There will be no make-up day for the suspended pick-up. If you were missed on Monday, the next scheduled pick-up is on Thursday, August 27, weather permitting.

Areas regularly scheduled for curbside collection on a Tuesday will have material collected on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Operations for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be determined, pending weather.

All residents are encouraged to follow these important tips should another major weather event impact the Jefferson Parish community:

  • Refrain from doing any major yard work until after a storm passes.
  • Place out only what is necessary to not strain collection efforts.
  • Do not place any debris at the curb after a tropical storm watch/warning or hurricane watch/warning has been issued and before a storm impacts the community.
  • Keep storm drains clean to minimize flooding.
