NEW BOOK BOOK CLUB AT EAST BANK REGIONAL LIBRARY EXPLORES YOUNG ADULT FICTION

JEFFERSON, LA – Kathryn Martin, a librarian at the East Bank Regional Library, will lead a new book club titled “Forever Youngish” geared for adults who want to read Young Adult fiction. The club will meet once a month at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie.

This event is free of charge and open to the public.

6:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2023 - Don’t Breathe a Word by Jordyn Taylor

Eva has never felt like she belonged ... not in her own family or with her friends in New York City, and certainly not at a fancy boarding school like Hardwick Preparatory Academy. So, when she is invited to join the Fives, an elite secret society, she jumps at the opportunity to finally be a part of something. But what if the Fives are about more than just having the best parties and receiving special privileges from the school? The more realistic the fear, the better for business. But the last weekend of the season, Charity’s co-workers begin disappearing. And when one ends up dead, Charity’s role as the final girl suddenly becomes all too real. If Charity and her girlfriend Bezi hope to survive the night, they’ll need figure out what this killer is after. As they unravel the bloody history of the real Mirror Lake, Charity discovers that there may be more to the story than she ever suspected...

Dash, in a bad mood during the holidays, happens to be the first guy to pick up the notebook and rise to its challenges. What follows is a whirlwind romance as Dash and Lily trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations all across New York City. But can their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions, or will their scavenger hunt end in a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?
