LANE CLOSURES
VETERANS BOULEVARD

JEFFERSON, LA – Starting Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 7 a.m., the following construction projects will begin on Veterans Boulevard:

  • Veterans Boulevard at Lake Villa Drive: The eastbound left lane of Veterans Boulevard will be closed for the removal of the Lake Villa Drive bridge. The contractor will begin resurfacing the road and will expand the closure to two lanes from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. After the bridge work is complete eastbound, the resurfacing work will move to the right lane. This work will begin at 7 a.m. and end by 3:30 p.m. The contractor will expand to a two-lane closure after 9 a.m., if needed. This work will also require a single left lane closure of westbound Veterans Boulevard. These closures are necessary for the bridge demolition and curb and gutter installation at a cost of $380,000. Work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, July 7, 2023 at 3:30 p.m., weather permitting. For more information, contact Don Hogan in the Streets Department at (504) 349-5808.
  • Veterans Boulevard between Lake Villa Drive and Independence Street: From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., one eastbound lane of Veterans Boulevard will be closed. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., two eastbound lanes will be closed. Motorists will merge to the available lane. These closures are necessary to resurface the road before, over and after the box culvert at a cost of $48,550. Work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, July 7, 2023 at 3:30 p.m., weather permitting. For more information, contact Brook Burmaster in the Streets Department at (504) 349-5801.
