JEFFERSON TRANSIT ANNOUNCES SERVICE CHANGES FOR 2024 MARDI GRAS SEASON

JEFFERSON, LA – Jefferson Parish Transit announces the following bus service changes for 2024 Mardi Gras season effective from Friday, February 2 through Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Below are dates and changes for bus services (*please note that bus detours go into effect two hours before parade begins and will return to normal service once parade has cleared):

• E1 – VETERANS-AIRPORT
  • Veterans Boulevard Parades (Friday, Feb. 2 – Tuesday, Feb. 13)
    • E1 will detour from Veterans/Clearview to City Park Ave. The last Veterans stop will be Veterans at Clearview and detour to I-10. The E1 will then exit I-10 at City Park Ave. The next pickup will begin at I-10 at RTA 27 and 45, and resume regular route to Canal at City Park Ave. From New Orleans to the Airport, the last pickup will be Canal at City Park, detour to I-10 and exit I-10 at Clearview. The next pickup will be Veterans at Clearview and will continue to the airport.

• E2 – AIRLINE
  • Endymion Parade – Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024
    • E2 will detour at Tulane and S. Claiborne. The last drop off and pickup will be Tulane at St. Claiborne. E2 will then travel back to Tulane, going towards Kenner, then continue normal route. Last departure time will be 9:27 p.m.
  • Mardi Gras Day – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • E2 will detour at Tulane and S. Claiborne. The last drop off and pickup will be Tulane at S. Claiborne. E2 will then travel back to Tulane, going towards Kenner, then continue normal route. Last departure time will be 9:27 p.m.

• E3 – JEFFERSON HIGHWAY
  • Mardi Gras Day – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • Regular Saturday schedule

• E8 – ELMWOOD
  • Mardi Gras Day – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • Regular Saturday schedule

• W1 – AVONDALE
  • The Mystic Krewe of Music – Monday, Feb. 5, 2024
    • W1 to Walkertown Terminal, the last pickup will be Westbank Expressway at Francis, then detour to the Westbank Expressway Highrise, then will take the Barataria exit. From the Barataria exit, W1 will travel to Walkertown Terminal, then will continue normal route.
  • The Krewe of Nandi – Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024
    • W1 to Walkertown Terminal, the last pickup will be Westbank Expressway at Francis, then detour to the Westbank Expressway Highrise, then will take the Barataria exit. From the Barataria exit, W1 will travel to Walkertown Terminal, then continue normal route.
  • Mardi Gras Day – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • Regular Saturday schedule

• W2 – WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY
  • Downtown New Orleans Parades – Friday, Feb. 2 – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • If Poydras is blocked, the last pickup will be Poydras at Baronne, then will detour to Baronne Street to head to the Wilty Terminal.
  • The Mystic Krewe of Music – Monday, Feb. 5, 2024
    • W2 from Walkertown Terminal, then detour to 4th Street to Barataria, then continue normal route. The last pickup will be at the Walkertown Terminal. W2 from Estelle will detour to the Westbank Expressway (ground level) to Walkertown.
  • The Krewe of Nandi – Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024
    • W2 from Walkertown Terminal, then detour to 4th Street to Barataria, then continue normal route. The last pickup will be at the Walkertown Terminal. W2 from Estelle will detour to the Westbank Expressway (ground level) to Walkertown.
  • Endymion Parade – Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024
    • W2 will detour from the Wilty Terminal to Tulane and S. Claiborne. The last drop off and pickup is Tulane at Claiborne. W2 will then travel back to the CCC Bridge, going towards the Westbank, then continue normal route.
  • Mardi Gras Day – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • W2 will detour from the Wilty Terminal to Canal St. The last drop off and pickup will be Canal at Liberty, then will continue back to Wilty Terminal.

• W3 – LAPALCO
  • Downtown New Orleans Parades – Friday, Feb. 2 – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • If Poydras is blocked, the last pickup will be Poydras at Baronne, then will detour to Baronne Street to head to the Wilty Terminal.

  • The Krewe of Nandi – Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024
    • W3 going to Westwego, will detour at Giase Street. The last drop off and pickup will be Giaise at Lapalco. The W3 will turn around then travel to Witly Terminal.
  • Mardi Gras Day – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • W3 will detour from the Wilty Terminal to Canal Street. The last drop off and pickup will be Canal at Liberty, then will continue back to Wilty Terminal.

• W6 – GRETNA LOCAL
  • Mardi Gras Day – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • No Services

• W8 – TERRYTOWN
  • Mardi Gras Day – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • No Services

• W10 – HUEY P. LONG
  • The Mystic Krewe of Music – Monday, Feb. 5, 2024
    • W10 to Walkertown Terminal will detour and travel on 4th Street to Barataria, to Westbank Expressway, to Walkertown Terminal.
  • The Krewe of Nandi – Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024
    • W10 to Walkertown Terminal will detour and travel on 4th Street to Barataria, to Westbank Expressway, to Walkertown Terminal.
  • Mardi Gras Day – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024
    • Regular Saturday service
