JEFFERSON PARISH TO CONDUCT AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOES ON AUG. 24, 2022

JEFFERSON, LA – Aerial spraying, in response to mosquito activity, is scheduled to take place on the East and West Banks of Jefferson Parish on the evening of August 24, 2022 over parts of Metairie, Kenner, Jefferson, Crown Point, Lafitte, Barataria and Westwego, weather conditions permitting.

Low-level aerial spraying will take place from 7:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. If weather conditions on the evening force the cancellation of the scheduled flights, aerial spraying will take place on the first subsequent evening on which weather conditions permit.

AERIAL SPRAYING AREAS:

AREA #1: Metairie
North of West Esplanade Ave.; South of West Esplanade Ave.; East of Clearview Blvd.; West of Williams Blvd.

AREA #2: Jefferson Area
North of Airline Hwy.; South of Mississippi River; East of Orleans Parish Line; West of Clearview Pkwy.

AREA #3: Kenner
North of Interstate 10; South of Mississippi River; East of Roosevelt Ave. (Excludes MSY Airport); West of St. Charles Parish Line

AREA #4: Westwego
North of 4th St.; South of Lapalco Blvd.; East of Tanglewood Dr. and Avenue H; West of Westbank Expressway

AREA #5: Barataria
North of Dolores Dr.; South of Lapalco Blvd.; East of Lafitte-Larose Hwy.; West of Westbank Expressway

AREA #6: Lafitte/Barataria/Crown Point
North of Fleming Curve near Palmetto St.; South End of Jean Lafitte near Kenal Rd./Orange Ave.; East and West of Mars

All of the Town of Crown Point (extending into the wooded area surrounding the town)
North of Barataria Blvd.; South of Jean Lafitte Blvd; West of Leo Kerner Pkwy.; East of Sharpe Rd.
