JEFFERSON PARISH PREPARES FOR THE NOVEMBER 3, 2020 ELECTION
Early Voting will take place from Friday, October 16 through Tuesday, October 27

JEFFERSON, LA – The Presidential General and Open Congressional Primary Election is on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020. Voters are encouraged to go to the polls or cast an early vote. Early voting will be held Friday, Oct. 16 through Tuesday, Oct. 27 (excluding Sunday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 25) from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Early voting is conducted by the Jefferson Parish Registrar of Voters Office. Voters registered anywhere in Jefferson Parish may cast an early vote at any of the following locations: the Joseph S. Yenni Building (1221 Elmwood Park Blvd. in Harahan), Charles B. Odom Building (5001 West Bank Expressway in Marrero) and the Kenner-Rivertown Registrar of Voters Office (408 Minor St. in Kenner). Early voting will also be available at the Grand Isle Multiplex (3101 Hwy 1 in Grand Isle) on Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Due to COVID-19, Jefferson Parish residents can expect changes to some polling locations. Voters can also vote by mail; the deadline to request a mail ballot is on Oct. 30 at 4:30 p.m. Voters can request an absentee by mail ballot online through the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Voter Portal or by contacting the Jefferson Parish Registrar of Voters Office; the deadline for the Registrar of Voters to receive a voted mail ballot is Nov. 2, 2020 by 4:30 p.m. (other than military and overseas voters). Absentee ballot drop off boxes will be available at the Jefferson Parish early voting locations.

The Jefferson Parish Department of General Services has worked with the Jefferson Parish Council’s “Election Integrity Committee”, Dennis DiMarco and his Registrar of Voters Office and the Department of Security to prepare for the upcoming election with COVID-19 in mind so that voting is accessible and safe for all. Jefferson Parish will provide portable ADA accessible restrooms, hand washing stations and canopies for citizens standing in line. Additionally, new bolder and brighter signs are being installed to make sure all voters know the poll site location is the correct location for their voting precinct.
