JEFFERSON PARISH PARTNERS WITH OCHSNER HEALTH TO PROVIDE MOBILE COVID-19 TESTING IN GRAND ISLE ON MONDAY, MAY 18, 2020

JEFFERSON, LA – Jefferson Parish, in partnership with Ochsner Health and the City of Grand Isle, will conduct COVID-19 mobile testing on Monday, May 18, 2020 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Grand Isle Multiplex, 3101 Highway 1 Grand Isle, LA 70358. Walk-up testing is available at this location for anyone who wants to determine their COVID-19 status. Testing at this site is also available to children, age 10 and older.

Members of the community who wish to be tested should bring a valid state ID and insurance card, if applicable. There are no out-of-pocket costs for those seeking a test and no one will be turned away based on their insurance status. Testing is available between 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., or until all test kits have been utilized.

“We are so grateful to partner with Ochsner Health on this initiative,” said Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng. “A special thanks to Councilman At-Large (Division A) Ricky Templet, Councilman At-Large (Division B) Scott Walker, Councilman Marion Edwards, Grand Isle Mayor David Camardelle and Grand Isle Chief of Police Laine Landry for their support. We also want to thank our Jefferson Parish Emergency Management Department, our Jefferson Parish General Services Department and our Jefferson Parish Parks & Recreation Department for their hard work setting up this community testing site."

In addition to offering community testing, Ochsner has the following resources available:

  • Call the free Ochsner information line at 844-888-2772 for 24/7 advice and COVID-19 information.
  • Established Ochsner patients can schedule a video visit with their provider and send secure messages via MyOchsner.
  • New patients can see a provider over video through www.ochsner.org/virtualvisits or via the Ochsner Anywhere Care app.
