JEFFERSON PARISH PARTNERS WITH JEFFERSON CHAMBER AND

ITS YOUNG PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEE ON REBRANDING PROJECT

JEFFERSON, LA – The Jefferson Parish Council passed a resolution at this week’s Council Meeting to organize a joint effort with the Parish President’s Office, the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce and its Young Professionals Committee, to develop a rebranding strategy for Jefferson Parish.

According to Council Chairman Ricky Templet, Council-at-Large, Division A, “In an effort to make Jefferson Parish the premier place to live, work and play, a rebranding strategy is needed for both the current and future residents of the Parish. We want to create something that celebrates all that Jefferson Parish has to offer.”

The rebranding project will include a new and refreshed emblem for the Parish. The current Parish emblem features a brown pelican, the official state bird of Louisiana. The design was adopted in 1996 and has not been updated since that time. The rebrand fits in well with Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng’s strategy to “bring Jefferson Parish to the next level.”

“It’s a new day in Jefferson Parish and we want a more modern emblem that our citizens can really relate to and the future generation of our Parish will be proud to display,” says Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng. “We look forward to partnering with the Jefferson Chamber’s young professionals on this strategy and unveiling a revamped emblem that best reflects our community.”

This announcement comes shortly after Parish officials announced they would be going paperless for contracts, all in an effort to bring the Parish to the “21st century” and as a starting path to a more efficient government.

“Our Young Professionals are both passionate and committed to our parish and will certainly bring vitality to the process of developing a rebranding strategy. Jefferson has many amenities to offer and it is time to step up our marque,” said Todd Murphy, president of the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce.
