JEFFERSON PARISH OFFICES CLOSED ON MON. JANUARY 16 IN OBSERVANCFE OF MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. HOLIDAY
No garbage collection on Monday, January 16; curbside recycling will take place as scheduled

JEFFERSON, LA – All Jefferson Parish offices will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2023 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. This includes Jefferson Parish libraries and the Jefferson Parish Protection & Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS).

Jefferson Parish Transit will be running a Saturday service on Monday, January 16, 2023. For additional route updates, visit www.JPTransit.org.

All Jefferson Parish Parks & Recreation (JPRD) classes and programs (not including Lafreniere Park or Parc des Familles) will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2023 and will resume on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. To stay updated on all JPRD facilities, including any additional playground closures for the holiday, visit www.JPRD.com.

There will be no curbside garbage collection on Monday, January 16, 2023 for residents of Unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte. There will be no make-up day for the missed garbage collection on Martin Luther King Jr. Day; the next collection day for those scheduled to have garbage pick-up on Mondays will be Thursday, January 19, 2023. All four Parish trash drop-off sites and the Jefferson Parish Landfill will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2023 and will reopen on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Residents of Unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte are reminded to recycle their Christmas trees in an effort to fight coastal erosion. Curbside collection of Christmas trees will be from Thursday, January 12 – Saturday, January 14, 2023. No flocked, artificial or painted trees will be accepted and residents should take off all lights, garland, tinsel, ornaments, tree stands and plastic bags.
