JEFFERSON PARISH OFFICES CLOSED ON DEC. 30 – JAN. 2 IN OBSERVANCE OF NEW YEAR HOLIDAY

Garbage and Recycling to Take Place as Scheduled

JEFFERSON, LA – All Jefferson Parish offices will be closed on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022 – Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 in observance of the New Year holiday. This includes Jefferson Parish libraries and the Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS).

Jefferson Parish Transit will be running normal service on Friday, Dec. 30 – Sunday, Dec. 31, 2022. Due to the holiday, JP Transit will run a Saturday service on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023. For additional route updates, visit JPTransit.org.

All Jefferson Parish Parks & Recreation (JPRD) programming will continue to take place as originally scheduled. Lafreinere Park will be open daily but will close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2022. Parc des Familles will be open Friday, Dec. 30, 2022 and Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. but will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 – Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023. Both garbage and recycling will take place, as scheduled on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 and Monday, Jan. 2, 2023. The landfill and all four Jefferson Parish Drop-off sites will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023 in observance of the holiday. The landfill will reopen for business on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023. All four trash drop-sites are regularly closed on a Monday and will reopen for business on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.

Residents in Unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte interested in recycling their Christmas trees in an effort to fight coastal erosion should place them curbside on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023. Christmas trees will be collected curbside Thursday, Jan. 12 – Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023. No flocked, artificial or painted trees will be accepted and residents should take off all lights, garland, tinsel, ornaments, tree stands and plastic bags. More info at www.JeffParish.net/Coastal.
