JEFFERSON PARISH LIFTS EVACUATION FOR TOWN OF JEAN LAFITTE, LOWER LAFITTE, CROWN POINT AND BARATARIA

JEAN LAFITTE, LA – Mayor of Jean Lafitte Tim Kerner, Jr. and Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng have lifted the mandatory evacuation for the town of Jean Lafitte, Lower Lafitte, Crown Point and Barataria.

Water is receding; however, citizens should proceed with caution as there is still some road flooding in Lower Lafitte and Lower Barataria. Remember, Parish Ordinance Section 36-188 prohibits motorists from traveling on flooded streets, which may increase the possibility of structural flooding due to wake action caused by moving vehicles.
