JEFFERSON PARISH LAUNCHES VAX PERKS PROGRAM

Local businesses invited to sign-up to host vaccination events and
encouraged to offer incentives for vaccinated employees/patrons

JEFFERSON, LA – Jefferson Parish has launched a “Vax Perks Program” for local businesses interested in hosting vaccination events and/or those who decide to offer incentives for vaccinated employees and patrons. Interested businesses should CLICK HERE to sign-up.

According to Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng, “We hope local businesses will sign up for our Vax Perks Program. The goal of this new initiative is to increase access to vaccinations and encourage all Jefferson Parish residents to get the COVID vaccine. We know how important it is to be safe in the workplace and vaccination is the way for us to get back to normal.”

Jefferson Parish will contact the businesses that sign up in an effort to connect them with local healthcare partners to administer the COVID-19 vaccine at their establishment. Businesses can select their preference in vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson) and are asked to select the days/times of the week that will reach the most people. All confirmed vaccination events will be listed on the Jefferson Parish website at COVID.JeffParish.net.

Jefferson Parish will promote the businesses that decide to offer incentives to vaccinated employees and/or patrons on the official Jefferson Parish social media channels. All businesses who are already offering incentives are also encouraged to share on their own social media pages using the hashtag #JPVaxPerks and tagging Jefferson Parish on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@JeffParishGov).

Restaurants and bars may also be eligible for reimbursement if they participate in the State’s Shot for a Shot campaign through the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) and Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA). For more information about this program, please visit www.atc.louisiana.gov/docs/Shot%20for%20a%20Shot_Poster%20&%20Guidelines.pdf.
