Collecting new toys for children of all ages

JEFFERSON, LA - Jefferson Parish will be hosting a toy drive for families impacted by the devastating tornados that hit six different states the night of Friday, Dec. 10, 2021. Many organizations and individuals around the country stepped up to help Jefferson Parish in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Ida; Jefferson Parish officials have been in contact with areas impacted by the tornados that say new toys for children of the families who lost everything this holiday season is most needed at this time.

“Our hearts go out to the families that are picking up the pieces and mourning the loss of loved ones during this difficult time,” said Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng. “Our community knows first-hand what it feels like to be devastated by a natural disaster and how hard it can be to build back. The items we are collecting will be delivered to many of the organizations that helped us when we needed it the most. Jefferson Parish received nearly 100 truckloads of donations during the five weeks following Ida. Now it’s our time to pay it forward.”
