JEFFERSON PARISH HOSTS FIRST VIRTUAL COUNCIL MEETING ON APRIL 8, 2020

The virtual meeting will be viewable on JPTV, Jefferson Parish Website and Facebook

JEFFERSON, LA – As previously announced, the regularly scheduled Jefferson Parish Council Meeting for today, April 1, 2020, has been postponed; however, Jefferson Parish will host its first virtual Jefferson Parish Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 10 a.m.

The virtual meeting will be viewable on JPTV (Channel 6 on Cox and Channel 99 on AT&T Uverse), video teleconferencing, as well as the Jefferson Parish Website at www.JeffParish.tv/live and Jefferson Parish Facebook page at www.facebook.com/JeffersonParishGov/

Public comments will be accepted by real time teleconference, the number will be provided 24 hours in advance, or by email to elopez@jeffparish.nett for the council clerk to read into the record relating to items posted to the agenda or any other subject matters. Please submit email questions by Tuesday, April 7 at 10 a.m. The Council agenda may be accessed before the meeting on the Parish website under ‘Council Agendas’.

“We are happy to provide our citizens a platform in which the Jefferson Parish Council will continue to conduct business in abnormal times where we must practice social distancing. We will continue to adapt and adjust as we serve the citizens of Jefferson Parish without letting the work of our Parish go undone,” said Council Chairman Ricky Templet. “I truly appreciate the teamwork and cooperation of my colleagues and the departments involved in pulling together this innovative effort so quickly. It’s imperative we continue to find ways around the obstacles that we will continue to face in order to keep government moving forward.”

The virtual meeting is made possible by the focused efforts of the Jefferson Parish Council, Jefferson Parish President’s Office, Public Information Office, Information Technology Department and the assistance of AT&T.
