WHY: “Recreation Reimagined” is JPRD’s vision to revitalize playgrounds and youth sports in Jefferson Parish. JPRD is not closing any playgrounds or facilities. There are plans to enhance existing playgrounds to better serve JPRD participants and offer even more high-quality programs and opportunities for the youth of Jefferson Parish. The proposed “Recreation Reimagined” plan includes upgrades to various playgrounds on both the East and West Bank of Jefferson Parish, which will be designed to give all kids the opportunity to play at the best facilities with the greatest number of resources. Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng and JPRD Director Mario Bazile will provide additional information and be available to answer questions and gather input at these community meetings.
