JEFFERSON PARISH EXPANDS UTILITY PAYMENT OPTIONS THROUGH
PARTNERSHIP WITH MONEYGRAM AND CHECKFREE, OFFERING 100+ NEW LOCATIONS
TERRYTOWN BILL PAYMENT DROP-OFF SITE TO CLOSE BY END OF THIS YEAR
JEFFERSON, LA – Jefferson Parish has partnered with bill-paying services MoneyGram and CheckFree to offer more than 100 collective locations throughout the parish for residents to pay water and utility bills. The new service will eliminate the need for the Terrytown drop-off site, which will close on December 31, 2020.
According to Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng, “We are glad to be able to offer more than 100 locations for residents in Jefferson Parish to be able to pay their water and utility bills. Once we close the Terrytown site, those employees will be reassigned as call takers at the Water Department, offering even more efficiency.”
Residents will be able to pay water and utility bills by cash, check or money order at MoneyGram and CheckFree locations throughout the parish. Other payment options will still be available, including online payment, auto-draft payment, payment over the phone and payment by mail. Water meter installations and accounts can be set up over the phone at 736-6060.
