JEFFERSON PARISH COUNCILMAN DEANO BONANO HOSTS RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY
TO CELEBRATE THE UPGRADES AND RENOVATIONS TO LITTLE FARMS PLAYGROUND
RIVER RIDGE, LA – Jefferson Parish Councilman Deano Bonano and Jefferson Parish officials hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, March 11, 2021 to celebrate the completion of upgrades and renovations to Little Farms Playground, with a cost of $204,227.73.
“Improving every resident’s quality of life remains a top priority to Council District 2. Every child in Jefferson Parish should have a safe and inviting place to play,” said Councilman Deano Bonano. “Renovating our playgrounds is an investment in the well-being of our children that will pay dividends for years to come.”
The Jefferson Parish Parks & Recreation Department (JPRD) constructed a new concrete paved parking lot with twenty-four spaces. This new parking lot is ADA accessible and has two handicap parking spots with one of them being van accessible. This parking lot will provide parking closer to the park facilities, and keep cars from parking in the neighborhood. In addition, the project included installing site drainage with a five-foot wide sidewalk, installation of LED site lighting, and all dirt surfaces were covered with St. Augustine sod. Special care was taken to ensure the roots of an existing oak tree remained healthy during the construction process.
The unveiling ceremony took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Little Farms Playground located at 10301 South Park Street in River Ridge. CLICK HERE to watch a video of the full ceremony.
