JEFFERSON PARISH COUNCILMAN BYRON LEE HONORS LIVES LOST DUE TO COVID-19
Residents that lost loved ones to COVID are invited to submit info to be included on a COVID-19 Monument

JEFFERSON, LA – Jefferson Parish Councilman Byron Lee (District 3) is creating two monuments to honor the Jeffersonians who lost their lives due to COVID-19. Those who lost a loved one to COVID are invited to CLICK HERE to submit their family member/friend’s name, date of birth and date of death. First name, middle initial and last name will be included on the monuments, which will be located at Lasalle Landing in Rivertown in Kenner and at 5858 Westbank Expressway in Marrero.

“Our loved ones who lost their lives to Coronavirus will forever live on in our hearts. The unfortunate circumstances surrounding COVID-19 can never take away the love and admiration we have for those we lost,” said Councilman Lee. “This monument will serve as a reminder of their tenacious spirits, infectious laughter, and bright smiles. Let this structure serve as a place of celebration commemorating the lives of each person’s name engraved here.”

As of Monday, April 12, 884 Jefferson Parish residents and 10,241 Louisianans lost their lives due to COVID-19. Though there is no gesture that can make up for what this pandemic has stolen from individuals throughout our parish, the state and around the world, Councilman Lee says that he finds solace in knowing that we are dedicating a place for Jeffersonians to celebrate the lives of those we lost.
