JEFFERSON PARISH ANNOUNCES U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) CDBG, HOME, HESG AND CPD CARES ACT FUNDING FOR NONPROFITS IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $7,300,000
JEFFERSON, LA – The Jefferson Parish Department of Community Development (JPDCD) is pleased to announce the opening of its 2021 Grant Application Period for nonprofit organizations. The deadline for the submission of applications is Friday, February 5, 2021. JPDCD is seeking partners to administer eligible CDBG, HOME, HESG and Coronavirus CPD CARES Act funding (CDBG-CV and HESG-CV).
The annual HUD Entitlement Program funds eligible activities including Public Services, Housing, Economic Development and Public Infrastructure. The CARES Act provides funds that include these eligible activities as long as they prevent, prepare for and/or respond to the coronavirus and/or assist those individuals and households negatively economically impacted by the coronavirus. Partner match funding is still required for annual HOME, CDBG and HESG funding. However, no partner match funding is required for CDBG-CV and HESG-CV proposals.
In accordance with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines, Jefferson Parish is hosting a public meeting to discuss available funding, which will be held on January 12, 2021 from 4 – 5 p.m., at the General Government Building (Room 3503/3506) located at 200 Derbigny Street, Gretna LA. 70053.
