JEFFERSON PARISH ANNOUNCES MARCH PARADE ROUTES AND SCHEDULE

JEFFERSON, LA – The parade season is not over yet in Jefferson Parish. The St. Patrick’s Day Metairie Road Parade will take place this Sunday, March 12, 2023 at noon; the Irish-Italian Parade will take place on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at noon; and the Gretna Italian-Irish Parade will take place on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 1 p.m.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 12, 2023 will start from 41st St. and Severn Ave. It will proceed south on Severn, turning left on Metairie Rd. and then taking another left turn on Focis St. to Canal St., where it will disband. The St. Patrick’s Day Captain is Dan Civello, and this year’s Grand Marshal is the Honorable Jennifer Van Vrancken, Councilwoman of District 5.

The Irish-Italian Parade on Sunday, March 19, 2023 will start at Veterans Hwy. and Houma Blvd. It will roll down Veterans to Severn, make a U-Turn on 18th St. and go back down Severn to Veterans, ending at Martin Behrman Dr. The Irish-Italian Captain is Jason Renton, this year’s Irish Grand Marshal is John Blancher, and this year’s Italian Grand Marshal is the Honorable Deano Bonano, Councilman of District 2.

The Gretna Italian-Irish Parade on Sunday, March 26, 2023 will start at Franklin and Burmaster and finish at 4th and Huey P. Long. The Italian Grand Marshal is the Honorable John A. Alario, Jr., the Irish Grand Marshal is the Honorable Paul D. Connick, Jr., and this year’s Queen is Anna Marie Cahill. There will be no changes to JP Transit bus service on Sunday, March 12, 2023. The Irish-Italian Parade on Sunday, March 19, 2023 will impact the E1 Veterans-Airport route; those traveling to and from the CBD will have no bus service on Veterans Blvd., between Clearview Pkwy and the City Park Bus Terminal. This detour will begin 2 hours prior to the start of the parade. Normal service will resume after parade has cleared.
