JEFFERSON PARISH, LOUISIANA

JEFFERSON PARISH ANNOUNCES GOOD FRIDAY AND EASTER HOLIDAY CLOSURES

JEFFERSON, LA – All Jefferson Parish Government offices will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2024 in observance of the Good Friday holiday. See below for additional information, per department, regarding Good Friday and Easter holiday closures:

  • External Citizens’ Services
    • All Jefferson Parish Parks & Recreation (JPRD) classes and programs (not including Lafreniere Park and Parc des Familles) will be closed on Friday, March 29 and will resume operations on Saturday, March 30, 2024. For more information about JPRD, visit www.JPRD.com.
    • All Jefferson Parish libraries will be closed on Friday, March 29 for Good Friday and Sunday, March 31 for Easter. All libraries will be open on Saturday, March 30 and will resume normal operations on Monday, April 1. For more information about all Jefferson Parish Libraries, visit www.JPLibrary.net.
    • The Jefferson Parish Protection & Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS) locations will be closed on Friday, March 29 and will reopen for normal operations on Monday, April 1.
    • Jefferson Parish Transit will be running a Saturday holiday schedule on Friday, March 29 and will continue normal services on Saturday, March 30.

  • Engagement and Community Programs
    • The Jefferson Parish East and West Bank American Job Centers will be closed on Friday, March 29 and will reopen to the public on Monday, April 1. For unemployment services, residents can call 1-866-783-5567.
