JEFFERSON COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAMS (JEFFCAP) TO HOST HEAD START BIRTH TO FIVE PROGRAM REGISTRATION OUTREACH EVENTS FOR 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR

JEFFERSON, LA – Starting tomorrow (April 5, 2023), Jefferson Community Action Programs (JeffCAP) will host Head Start Birth to Five Program Registration Outreach Events to help families register for Head Start and Early Head Start for the 2023-2024 school year. 

Events will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

  • April 5, 2023: Hazel Rhea Hurst (1121 S. Causeway Blvd., Jefferson, LA 70121)
  • April 12, 2023: Marrero Community Center (1861 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA 70072)
  • April 18, 2023: Gretna Community Center (1700 Monroe St., Gretna, LA 70053)
  • April 19, 2023: Woodmere Community Center (4026 Post Drive, Harvey, LA 70058)
  • April 21, 2023: Dorothy B. Watson Community Center (1300 S. Myrtle St., Metairie, LA 70003) 
  • April 25, 2023: Harvey Community Center (1501 Estalote St., Harvey, LA 70058)
  • April 26, 2023: J C Simmons Community Center (4008 U.S. Hwy. 90, Avondale, LA 70094)

Required documentation for Head Start and Early Head Start registration includes your child’s birth certificate, Social Security card (if applicable), medical card and immunization record. Parent(s) should bring photo identification, proof of residency (light, gas, water bill or lease/mortgage), proof of 2022 total gross income and current income, proof of Supplemental Security Income total amount for 2022 and current, and proof of any child support received, including Child Care Assistance Program, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and WIC.

Jefferson Child Coordinated Enrollment is required by the state of Louisiana for any family applying for Early Childhood Education for children birth to four years of age. Apply at www.jeffersonchild.com. For Head Start and Early Head Start registration information CLICK HERE.
