GENEALOGICAL RESEARCH SOCIETY OF NEW ORLEANS TO HOST 'ASK-AN-EXPERT' NIGHT AT EAST BANK REGIONAL LIBRARY

JEFFERSON, LA – The Genealogical Research Society of New Orleans will host an “Ask-an-Expert” night at 7 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2023 at the East Bank Regional Library (4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie, LA 70001).

This presentation is free of charge and open to the public. There is no registration.

“We all run up against roadblocks in our genealogical research,” says Stephen Stuart, president of GRSNO. “Even the best of us periodically need to consult someone else to get a different view of the problem. This event gives you the chance to bring your questions and challenges for one-on-one discussion with some of our experienced members.”

The line-up includes the following, though the list might grow.

  • Creole ancestry and sources - Barbara Trevigne
  • Italian and Sicilian ancestry and sources - Chris Caravella
  • Irish ancestry and sources - Sheila Larmann and Marguerite Scully
  • River Parishes, German Coast and Acadian ancestry and sources - Jay Schexnaydre
  • Researching Your Ancestors in St. Tammany and Other Parishes - Marguerite Scully
  • Scottish ancestry and sources and Writing Your Family History – Casey Stuart
  • Archdiocese of New Orleans archives - Jack Belsom
  • GRSNO Membership - Michele Barrere Tymkiw and Stephen Stuart
  • Getting Published in New Orleans Genesis - Crystal Forte, Editor
