EPILEPSY AWARENESS WALK TO TAKE PLACE ON NOV. 14TH AT LAFRENIERE PARK

Registration for 10 a.m. at Shelter #8, Walk to begin at 11 a.m.

JEFFERSON, LA – In honor of National Epilepsy Awareness Month, there will be an Epilepsy Awareness Walk this Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Lafreniere Park. The walk is free for all participants. Registration will start at 10:00 a.m. and the walk will start around 11:00 a.m., beginning and ending at Shelter #8.

“My wish is to make everyone in Jefferson Parish aware of epilepsy,” said Terri Pajares, an employee of the Jefferson Parish Attorney’s Office. Terri was diagnosed with epilepsy in 1990.

Epilepsy is a neurological condition in which nerve cell activity in the brain is being disturbed and is characterized by unpredictable seizures affecting nearly 50 million people of all ages worldwide.
