| Jefferson, LA – The Jefferson Parish Department of Community Development has been awarded $2.9 million dollars in federal funds to conduct lead hazard reduction activities in the homes of Low to Moderate Income families in Jefferson Parish. This new grant from the Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes (OLHCHH), U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), anticipates the remediation of lead hazards from approximately 150 households during the 42 month grant period. Priority will be given to owner occupied and rental housing units where children under the age of 6 years of age are currently living or expecting to reside.
