ALARIO CENTER COVID-19 TESTING SITE IN JEFFERSON PARISH EXTENDS HOURS, INCREASES CAPACITY AND DECREASES TURNAROUND TIME FOR RESULTS THIS WEEK

JEFFERSON, LA – Starting today, July 14 through Saturday, July 18, the Alario Center COVID-19 testing site has extended hours (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.), increased capacity (no daily max on testing) and decreased turnaround time for results (3-5 days).

“We will always be aggressive on testing and take every opportunity available to the Parish. Thanks to the State and Federal Government, we are able to provide COVID-19 testing with a quicker turnaround time for results this week and our hope is for this to continue. Previously, individuals who were being tested at the Alario Center would have to wait 10-14 days to receive their results, which is unacceptable,” said Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng.

Testing at the Alario Center this week is available to individuals five years and older who want to know their COVID-19 status. Individuals under 16 years old must have a parent or legal guardian present to consent to testing.

Individuals seeking COVID-19 testing at this site are encouraged to pre-register. Individuals can pre-register at www.DoINeedaCOVID19test.com. Onsite registration will still be accommodated; however, it will take longer than arriving pre-registered.

Individuals who get tested at the Alario Center testing site this week should receive their results within 3-5 days. Test results will be provided by email notification and will also be posted in the eTrueNorth patient portal. If someone tests positive, they will be also be contacted by phone. There is not a phone number to call for results. Results will only be provided by email and in the portal.

This testing site will be conducted as a drive-thru test site. Once on site, those being tested will need to do as followed:

  • Wear a mask and stay in vehicle (there will be separate lines for those who have pre-registered and for those who must register onsite).
  • The site will use a self-administered nasal swab test that will allow those being tested to swab their own nose while in their vehicles. Each person will be observed by a trained medical volunteer to ensure the sample is taken correctly, and drop the sealed sampled into a container oN their way out of the drive-thru site.

In order to be tested at this site, you must provide your telephone number and complete pre-registration. ID is NOT required.
