AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOES

JEFFERSON, LA – Low level aerial spraying in response to nuisance mosquito activity is scheduled to take place on the east and west banks of Jefferson Parish on the evening of Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 7 – 10 p.m., weather conditions permitting. The areas to be sprayed are as follows:

AREA #1: Kenner
Spraying will take place over the area generally bounded by Interstate 10 on the north, the Mississippi River on the south, Roosevelt Avenue on the east and the St. Charles Parish line on the west.

AREA #2: River Ridge/ Harahan
Spraying will take place over the area generally bounded by Airline Drive on the north, the Mississippi River on the south, Hickory St. on the east and Filmore St. on the west.

AREA #3: Old Jefferson
Spraying will take place over the area generally bounded by the Earhart Expressway on the north, the Mississippi River on the south, the Orleans/Jefferson Parish line on the east and Clearview Parkway on the west.

AREA #4: Gretna/Harvey
Spraying will take place over the area generally bounded by the Mississippi River on the north, the West Bank Expressway on the south, the Orleans/Jefferson Parish line on the east and the Harvey Canal on the west.

AREA #5: Lafitte/ Barataria/ Crown Point
Spraying will take place over all of the inhabited areas of the Town of Jean Lafitte, Barataria and Crown Point, on both sides of the Bayou Barataria Waterway, in the area bounded by the Fleming Curve near Palmetto Street on the north, the end of Jean Lafitte Road near Kenal Road/Orange Avenue on the south, and bordered by marshland on both the west and east.

If weather conditions force the cancellation of the scheduled flight, aerial spraying will take place on the first subsequent evening, weather conditions permitting.
