AERIAL SPRAYING FOR MOSQUITOES

JEFFERSON, LA – Aerial spraying in response to mosquito activity is scheduled to take place on the east and west banks of Jefferson Parish on the evening of Saturday, August 8, 2020, over parts of Metairie, Jefferson, Terrytown, Gretna, Lafitte/Barataria, Marrero, Harahan and Westwego weather conditions permitting.

Below are the areas to be sprayed:

  • AREA #1: Lafitte/ Barataria
    • North: Fleming Curve near Palmetto Street; South: End of Jean Lafitte near Kenal Road/ Orange Ave, East: Marsh, West: Marsh.

  • Area# 2: Westwego
    • North: Mississippi River; South: West Bank Expressway; West: Bayou Segnette; East: Westwood Drive.

  • AREA #3: Jefferson/ Metairie Area
    • North: Interstate 10, South: Mississippi River, East: Orleans Parish Line., West: Causeway.

  • AREA #4: Marrero
    • North: Lapalco Blvd; South: Barataria Blvd; West: Van Ness Drive; East: Woodmere Blvd.

  • AREA #5: River Ridge/ Harahan
    • North: Airline Hwy; South: Mississippi River, East: Hickory St, West: Filmore Street.

  • AREA #6: Gretna/ Terrytown
    • North: Mississippi River; South: Laplaco Blvd; West: Lafayette Street; East: Orleans Parish Line.

Low-level aerial spraying will take place from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. If weather conditions on the evening force the cancellation of the scheduled flights, aerial spraying will take place on the first subsequent evening on which weather conditions permit.
