THERE WILL BE NO GARBAGE COLLECTION ON MONDAY, JANUARY 20, 2020,

IN OBSERVANCE OF THE MARTIN LUTHER KING HOLIDAY

CURBSIDE RECYCLING WILL TAKE PLACE AS SCHEDULED

JEFFERSON, LA – There will be no garbage collection for all residents of unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the town of Jean Lafitte on Martin Luther King Day, January 20, 2020; however, curbside recycling will take place as normally scheduled.

For those who regularly receive garbage pick-up on a Monday, please note that garbage will not be picked up until Thursday, January 23. There will be no make-up day for the missed garbage collection on January 20. Residents and small businesses scheduled to have their recyclables collected on a Monday will still have their recyclables picked up on Monday, January 20.

All four trash drop-off sites and the Jefferson Parish Landfill will be closed on Martin Luther King Day and will reopen on Tuesday, January 21. Residents wishing to dispose of garbage and trash between collections are reminded that all trash drop-off sites are currently open Tuesday through Sunday, except for designated holidays, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., CST.
