Drop-Off Site Instructions


Residential Waste Acceptance Procedures and Fees: Trash drop off services are provided for free to residents of the unincorporated areas of Jefferson Parish who receive curbside collection of garbage by the Parish (Terrytown, Harvey, Marrero, Waggaman, Avondale, Bridge City, Metairie, Jefferson and River Ridge) and the town of Jean Lafitte.  Residents of unincorporated areas of Jefferson Parish are limited to 2 visits per day.  Residents of Gretna, Westwego, Grand Isle, Harahan and Kenner are allowed to utilize the sites for a fee. All citizens using the drop-off site will be asked to provide a driver’s license or water bill to verify residency before their waste will be accepted.

Cash will no longer be accepted as payment from contractors and residents of the Cities of Kenner, Harahan, Westwego and Gretna who utilize the Jefferson Parish Drop-Off sites for trash disposal.  Payment for fees will have to be paid by credit or debit card.

  • Fees for Residents of Gretna, Westwego, Grand Isle, Harahan and Kenner: The fee for residents of Jefferson Parish municipalities other than Lafitte and for all commercial users is:
                        $14 for pick-up trucks                     $20 for trailers

  • Self-Service: Residents are reminded that these sites are self-service. Debris must be manually unloaded into roll-off containers.

  • Space Constraints: Loads must be transported only in pick-up trucks and/or small trailers. Site managers may direct contractors and residents to the Jefferson Parish Landfill for disposal depending on space constraints and the size of the vehicle. For vehicles hauling trailers, the total combined length of the vehicle plus the trailer may not exceed 25 feet. Anything longer than this will be directed to an area landfill. These sites cannot accommodate dump trailers.

  • Special Placement: Loads originating from residents of Gretna, Westwego, Grand Isle, Harahan and Kenner must be deposited in containers labeled for municipal loads.

  • Passenger Tires, Auto Fluids, (Electronic) E-Waste, Batteries, and Waste Cooking Oil: The Metairie and Marrero sites accept passenger tires, automotive fluids, oil filters, automotive batteries, and waste cooking oil for recycling. All residents of Jefferson Parish, including Terrytown, Harvey, Marrero, Waggaman, Avondale, Bridge City, Metairie, Jefferson, River Ridge, Gretna, Westwego, Grand Isle, Harahan and Kenner may recycle these items free of charge.

                        $14 for pick-up trucks                     $20 for trailers
